Local Social Enterprises Enjoy Coventry Event To Celebrate Being Social For Social Economy Drive Week

Mayor, Cllr Rachel Lancaster, was just one guest among more than fifty people who attended an event to celebrate all things social economy, at The Belgrade Theatre, for the region’s Social Economy Drive, this week.

Coventry & Warwickshire Co-operative Development Agency (CWCDA), a leading organisation in the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector in Coventry & Warwickshire, were pleased to be able to host this event and showcase just a small number of the incredible organisations and businesses working with a social cause within the Greater Coventry City area.

The event bought together expert speakers at this year’s event too: Emma Davies – Emma Davies Consulting, Rowena Wilding – Wilding marketing and Karen Heap – Founder of Socially Shared, to inspire and inform those attending about the importance of marketing, branding and networking. Guests and speakers also benefited from hearing about the latest social economy funding and business support news from Mandy Bygrave, CEO of CWCDA.

Venue sponsors The Belgrade Theatre, a charity themselves, were the perfect hosts and provided a warm welcome.

The overarching theme of the event was connection, communication and community, all essential ingredients for the success of any social economy business and organisation.

The Social Economy Drive is a week-long programme of varied events, bringing together key stakeholders, Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise organisations (VCSE), commissioners, public and private sector and entrepreneurs all that are passionate about ‘growing the regional social economy.’

This week long programme is only a small part of the ongoing support available to the Voluntary Community Social Enterprise community by Mandy Bygrave and the team at CWCDA and other support agencies.
