Speaker and Learning Opportunity
Speaker: Karen Heap, Founder of Socially Shared

Topic: The Power of People, Signposting and Support
In this session, Karen explores the power of building and nurturing the right network around you. Success in business is rarely achieved in isolation, it’s driven by the strength of your connections. Karen will highlight how cultivating a trusted circle of knowledgeable individuals can open doors, spark opportunities, and provide invaluable guidance. By tapping into this network, you gain not only direct support but also access to wider connections through effective signposting, helping you find the right people, resources, and solutions when you need them most. Whether you’re growing a charity/social enterprise, navigating challenges, or seeking new opportunities, this session will demonstrate how leveraging the power of people can accelerate your progress and strengthen your foundations.

Networking and Connection
Whether you’re part of a social enterprise, charity, community organisation, or simply curious about the local social economy, this event is for you.
There will also be plenty of time for meeting others in the room and for having a chat.
The event, a collaborative project between Socially Shared and Coventry Warwickshire CDA, is open to anyone with an interest in social enterprises, community organisations, charities and the social economy.

Reasons to attend:
★ You will have the opportunity to meet members of the Social Enterprise Community and find out about their business ventures and the valuable contributions they make across the region.
★ The social enterprises attending may provide the products and services that you need for your business or community venture.
★ You may meet other social entrepreneurs on the same or similar mission to you and you may identify opportunities to collaborate.
★ Your current business venture is not fully meeting the needs of your audience and you want to explore how becoming a social enterprise may assist you in addressing this.
★ You are not a social enterprise or community venture, but you would like to learn more about how you can get involved and support their cause.
★ You would simply like to learn more about the local social economy community.

If you are interested in connecting and networking with social enterprises, community-owned

What is the Social Economy?
The social economy is a term used to describe ventures or communities of like minded individuals, that collectively work together and towards a people based or environmental goal. These communities and ventures put ‘purpose before personal profit’ and any trading surplus is reinvested to support the cause at hand. Established in 1982, Coventry and Warwickshire Co-operative Development Agency (CWCDA) offer free, high quality and professional support to help people create and sustain all types of social enterprises. They also offer employment advice and deliver a range of other services that promote financial and economic inclusion. For more information visit cwcda.co.uk

Socially Shared Business Network, is a successful women’s network, established in 2015. The network, is well known for professional but relaxed meetings, where people come together to connect, share knowledge, do business and offer support. A team of area hosts facilitate meetings at twelve different locations across the Midlands each month. For more information visit sociallyshared.co.uk
